WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION – Jacksonville, FL Wedding Photographer

He asked and you said I will! You picked the date, booked your venue and found your photographer (hopefully me!) Wahoo!  Then, you set a date for your engagement session. Sweet! You are half way there….then panic sets in as you run to your closet. What will we wear?!

We have been getting a lot of inquiries about what to wear for sessions so I thought I would post a few fun examples.  This post will be focusing on engagement couple ideas.  I hope to blog some family session examples in the next few weeks.  Here is a check list on how to decide on your look:

1. Your outfits should reflect the location and environment you decide to have your session. For example a metropolitan area location you could pull off a cocktail dress and pumps, but that choice obviously would look out of place on a sandy beach.

2. You want to be you! Your photos are to reflect who you are as a couple so you defiantly want to pick clothes that flatter your figure and make you feel comfortable in your own skin.

3. Layer! It gives you more of an opportunity to add color and dimension.  Accessories such as; sweaters, jackets scarfs and hats are great ways to add interest to your look and personality to your photos.

4. Consider a prop! Using props is engaging and a wonderful way to help tell your story. Maybe you are both avid readers? You could bring 50 of your favorite books and we could lay you in between all of them on your Mom’s favorite quilt. It adds not only personality to your photos, but describes the both of you.

Whatever you decide remember this session is about you two as a couple. It is meant to be fun and the best opportunity to get to know your photographer and for your photographer to get to know you! Let loose and have a great time…your big day will be here before you know it!
